Sustainability & Scotts:

The proof is in our products & services

iTurf logo with straplineOur unique programme of integrated turf pratices and treatments, iTurf have been developed, tried, tested and improved to offer a tailored approach for the professional turf manager. To help create a strong and healthy turf area, the Scotts professional team and our dealers recommend what specific technologies should be applied to produce a strong and environmentally balanced turf area.

1. We start with the use of Scotts naturally selected, solution-specific seeds: seeds that are resistant to disease and/or drought, improved wear tolerance, species that need less nutrients, less supplemental water and less plant protection inputs depending upon the site.

2. We then recommend Scotts fertilizers, that if applied according to the instructions of use and with the right application rate, will help create even stronger grass through feeding. Healthy, strong grass enables greater absorption of rainfall, helping filter pollutants and recharge groundwater supplies. Ultimately run-off and erosion are reduced in comparison to unfertilized turf.

3. We optimise the use and efficacy of plant protection products (PPP) by recommending the maintenance of turf with different fertilizer and cultural technologies.

The 5i principle
So with iTurf, end users have the reassurance of using the right amount of product at the right time, in the right place and applied in the right way.
For example using the prescribed quantity of Controlled Release Fertilizers (CRF) by our team of experts will mean less need for storage, and a reduction in pollution as transportation of the product is reduced.
Research has also shown that CRF fertilizers last longer than conventional fertilizing products, meaning fewer application rates, so you get more for your money.
